Hiiiiii everyone,
My name is Ariel. I am going to my second year in Human Resources Management at York University, BHRM. I am also the Ambassador for York is U, the RED Zone and York International Orientation. Chances are that you will probably see me running around the campus. That is fun, trust me!
So the question is "How To Be Awesome at University". It is as simply as:
(1) Be open-mined. You need to expect the unexpected and go with the flow.
(2) Talkative (in the positive, productive ways). Try talk to random yet non-creepy people LOL, you will find out that most of students is friendly and approachable.
(3) Be an explorer. Take a walk around the campus, where you will probably stick around in the next 4 years, to see different buildings, discovery different campus food services, some hidden wicked locations at York. On top of that, you may amaze your friends by your knowledge about York U.
(4) Building networking. HOW? Join YU Connect/SCLD/ York is U. They are one of the most amazing/ coolest Student Leadership at York.
(5) Bring your best smile to school everyday, to your friends, your professors, your T.A and even your haters.
(6) Look as your brightest, everyday.
(7) Have lunch with your friends.
I enjoy interacting with people because I've learn so much from them, things like how to explain complex things in a simple way, how to network, how to defuse intense emotions, how to be a good leader, etc.
As my first year at York U, I've joined York is U Alumni Program and that was the stepping stone for me to meet with more cool and awesome people.
So just keep these things in mind, and you will be a super star at University, someday, like... me lol.
